Datacomb is the overall organisational brand for the company, providing a combination of services to three core markets:
1. Government and NGO consulting
These are services are geared towards helping government departments, agencies, NGO's and NPO's to implement meaningful development programmes in South Africa. Here Datacomb acts as a service provider to provide strategic guidance and implement on the ground interventions as part of significant projects and programmes.
2. Corporate and Private Sector consulting
Datacomb are also available to consult with private sector and corporate companies wishing to develop the tourism or agriculture sectors. This may include Enterprise Development programmes, BEE deals or spend of CSI funding in appropriate or measurable areas.
3. Direct SME consulting
These are services which have been created to specifically assist the SME in terms of business development to improve sustainability. They are practical, implementable services which can be accessed and used in any development programme.

DATAstrat
This unit focuses on advising and help with the implementation of overall sector growth strategies both from local government as well as international NGO's. This unit has a broader scope and operates at a policy level with key stakeholders and decision makers. The unit aims to facilitate the general growth of the SME sector in the South African economy. The outcome may include

- Master Plan creation
- High level networking and stakeholder management
Case Study: Datacomb works with the International Labour Organisation on their SCORE (sustaining competitive and responsible enterprises) project. Datacomb is responsible for identifying partners and facilitate meetings for SCORE with relevant stakeholders in the tourism sector, and for facilitating committee meetings and establishing the SCORE virtual college.
DATAbiz
This unit within the company focuses on various traditional business consulting services including the following:
- Business sustainability advisory
- Feasibility studies
- Business planning solutions
- Business plan development
- Business skills training
- Marketing and sales strategies
Case Study: Datacomb are responsible for selecting and managing the development of more than 250 national Tourism enterprises on behalf of TEP (Tourism Enterprise Partnership) through the programmes which we run. Datacomb conduct Business Sophistication Measures (BSM) among other diagnostics on behalf of TEP and recommend business development plans in line with the TEP step by step offering. The project also includes clustering tourism products, under the South African Hidden Treasures Experiences, in the provinces for optimum market access and taking products to major international tourism markets.
DATAfin
This unit focuses on corporate finance and investment evaluation advisory services. The framework encompasses the following facets:
- Sourcing of funding from intermediaries and providing funding support
- Administration of funds and the systems for the management
- Venture capital management
- Investment research and analysis
- Company valuation and due diligence
- Mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships

- Black Economic Empowerment deals
Case Study: Datacomb worked with the Empowerment of Emerging Farmers (EEF), a European Union (EU) funded project covering Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces. Datacomb is the technical advisor and project manager to Resource Africa on this EU project. The project aims to address shortfalls on the skills and infrastructure currently faced by land Reform beneficiaries. The programme is targeted at improving awareness; community trust management and corporate governance; skills development and market access to the EU & local markets. Access to funding has resulted in a positive spin-off for communities and job creation.

This unit focuses on the creation and implementation of training programmes aimed at development of capacity and skills specific to the needs of the industry and include:
- Management Development Programmes
- Training of Land Reform Trusts (CPAs; Joint Bodies)
- Rural Enterprise and Business Administration skills training
Case Study: Datacomb are implementing a specific Management Development Programme (MDP) for the Tourism Industry on behalf of TEP (Tourism Enterprise Partnership). MDP is a growth strategy development programme which also follows up with an implementation phase. The overall objective of the programme is to facilitate the growth and sustainability of 50 high profile tourism small businesses, to increase their competitiveness and profitability through building the competency and capacity of management staff.

This unit provides a comprehensive project management team for turnkey projects where an SME is looking to expand their physical presence in the country. Datacomb can provide:

Case Study: Datacomb are involved in the development of Highborn Resorts. This is a fully contained resort set at the foot of the beautiful Magaliesberg mountain range. When complete, the resort will comprise of a state-of-the-art conference centre, a 200-seater restaurant with magnificent views of the mountain, executive accommodation and a children's play centre. Datacomb serves as Project Manager to Highborn Resorts from concept design; business operations planning; licenses and permits application; equipping; staff recruitment; training and opening and running of the resort.
DATAsearch
Datacomb has a team of researchers and analysts who are able to design and implement tailored research projects to specific business situations. The outcome is an analytical presentations that leads to actionable solutions. Case Study: Datacomb was contracted by the European Union to conduct a feasibility study for the development of a bankable business plan for agriculture in the Mphahlele area of the Limpopo Province. The project was completed on time and in budget and provided the EU with excellent on the ground insight on which to base their investment decisions.
